Current and upcoming corridor renovations with replacement services

Several corridor renovations are planned over the next few years. You will find all current and upcoming corridor renovations in this overview. Click on the tiles to find out more about replacement services for each corridor renovation.

Corridor renovation Hamburg – Berlin

From 1 August 2025 to 30 April 2026, the line between Hamburg and Berlin will be completely closed to train traffic due to the corridor renovation. Long-distance trains will be diverted around the line closure. Travellers on regional services will be able to reach their destinations via alternative routes and extensive replacement bus services. Corridor renovation Nuremberg – Regensburg

From 6 February 2026 to 10 July 2026, the line between Nuremberg and Regensburg will be completely closed to train traffic due to the corridor renovation. However, travellers will still be able to reach their destinations: long-distance trains will be diverted and there will be efficient alternative connections in regional services. Wherever trains are unable to run, an extensive replacement bus service will be available. Find more information here.

Corridor renovation Hagen – Wuppertal – Köln

From 6 February 2026 to 10 July 2026 the Hagen – Wuppertal – Cologne line will undergo a corridor renovation. Train services will be restricted during this period. Long-distance trains will be diverted and replacement buses will substitute for regional services. S-Bahn and RE trains between Hagen, Wuppertal and Düsseldorf will continue to run during much of the corridor renovation; however, shorter periods of service restrictions will apply.
