Lower Saxony

During the corridor renovation of the Lehrte – Berlin line, train services on the section Fallersleben – Berlin-Spandau will be suspended from 2 October to 12 December 2026. The following regional railway services in Lower Saxony are affected:

RE 50

Route

Hildesheim – Braunschweig – Wolfsburg
Changes
  • Fallersleben – Wolfsburg: Every Saturday and Sunday, all trains are replaced by buses.
  • Braunschweig – Wolfsburg: Express trains are cancelled daily.

Replacement service with buses (section Fallersleben – Wolfsburg):

  • Journey time: approx. 10 minutes
  • Bus deployment: up to 3 articulated buses without toilet

For the section Braunschweig – Wolfsburg, please use the RE50 trains running hourly as an alternative.

 

RE 30

Route

Hannover – Wolfsburg 
Changes
  • Fallersleben – Wolfsburg: Every Saturday and Sunday, all trains are replaced by buses.

  • Gifhorn – Wolfsburg: Additional peak-hour trains are cancelled during peak hours. All trains are cancelled from 30.09. – 05.10.2026.

For the section Braunschweig – Helmstedt, additional peak-hour trains are cancelled Monday to Friday.
