Changes in regional transport from 14.06.26 – 10.07.26 (phase A)

Here you can find an overview of the changes in regional transport for the period from 14 June to 10 July 2026.

RE 22

Usual routeNuremberg – Neumarkt (Oberpf.) – Regensburg – Munich
ChangesRE 22 between Nuremberg and Regensburg will not run. There will be a replacement bus service.
Information about the replacement service forNuremberg - Regensburg                      
  • Buses with on-board toilets
  • 3 buses per hour plus additional buses during peak hours 
  • Travel time Nuremberg – Neumarkt: 1 hr 
  • Travel time Neumarkt – Parsberg: 30 min 
  • Travel time Parsberg – Regensburg: 50 min 
  • Neumarkt – Regensburg highway route, therefore only seats available on this section

 

RB 51

Usual route Neumarkt (Oberpf.) – Regensburg – Straubing – Plattling
ChangesRB 51 between Straubing and Plattling will not run. There will be a replacement bus service.
Information about the replacement service
  • The bus route will be extended to Deggendorf.
  • Articulated buses
  • 1 bus per hour
  • 2 buses per hour during peak times
  • Travel time Straubing – Plattling: 35 min
  • Travel time Plattling – Deggendorf: 20 min

 

RE 50

Usual routeNuremberg – Neumarkt (Oberpf.) – Regensburg – Straubing –  Plattling
ChangesRE 50 between Straubing and Passau will not run. There will be a replacement bus service.
Information about the replacement services
  • Buses with on-board toilet
  • 1 bus per hour
  • Highway travel, so seating only
  • Travel time Straubing – Plattling: 35 min
  • Travel time Plattling – Deggendorf: 15 min
  • Travel time Deggendorf – Passau: 45 min

 

S 3 (S-Bahn Nürnberg)

Usual route

Nuremberg – Feucht – Neumarkt

Changes

S3 between Feucht and Neumarkt (Oberpf.) will not run. There will be a replacement bus service.

  • Articulated buses
  • 3 buses per hour
  • 6 buses per hour during rush hour
  • Connection to the S-Bahn to and from Nuremberg
  • Travel time S3: 1 hour

 

RB 17

Usual routeIngolstadt Nord – Ingolstadt Hbf – Neustadt (Donau) – Regensburg – Plattling
ChangesRB 17 between Straubing and Plattling will not run.Replacement bus services operate on lines RE 50 and RB 51. Further information about these lines is available below.

 

RE 3

Usual routeMunich Hbf – Freising – Landshut – Plattling – Passau
ChangesRE 3 between Landau and Passau will not run. Replacement bus services are running between Landau and Passau, with a stop in Wallersdorf (Bus RB 3).

  • Buses with on-board toilets
  • 2 buses per hour
  • 3 buses per hour during peak hours
  • Travel time Plattling – Passau 1 hr 5 min
  • Highway route, therefore only seating is available.

In Landau, there is a connection to the RE 3 train towards Munich. Additionally the replacement bus RB 3 is operating between Landau and Passau, stopping at all intermediate stations (1–2 buses per hour).

 

RB 35

Usual routePlattling – Deggendorf – Bay. Eisenstein
ChangesRB 35 between Plattling and Deggendorf will not run. There will be a replacement bus service.
Information about the replacement services                         
  • Single buses without toilets
  • 2 buses per hour
  • Travel time Landau – Deggendorf: 50 minutes
  • Connection in Deggendorf to RB 35 towards Bayerisch Eisenstein
  • Connection in Landau to RE 3 towards Landshut and Munich

 

RB 54

Usual routeKufstein – Rosenheim – Munich Hbf
ChangesThere are changes in the schedule. The reason for this is the diversion of rail freight traffic.
Information about the replacement services                        
  • The frequency of RB 54 between Rosenheim and Munich Central Station will be reduced to 2 hours.
  • During the gaps in the schedule, i.e. offset by 2 hours from the train, replacement bus services will run between Grafing and Rosenheim.
  • During the hours when RE 54 is not running, RE 5 will make an additional stop in Grafing.
  • In Grafing, there is a connection to Munich Central Station.

 

Without replacement bus service

There will be changes in the schedule for the following lines. The reason for this is the diversion of rail freight traffic.

 

RE 1

Usual routeMunich Hbf – Ingolstadt Hbf – Nuremberg
Changes in the schedule
  • Mon–Fri: Between Munich Central Station and Ingolstadt Central Station, services run every 2 hours.
  • The operating lines S 2 and RB 16 provide at least partially alternative connections.

 

RB 40

Usual routeMunich Hbf – Munich Ost – Mühldorf (Inn)
Changes in the schedule
  • RB 40 between Munich Hbf und Munich Ost will not run.
  • The S-Bahn trains running through the core route provide alternative connections.

 

RB 45

Usual routeMühldorf (Inn) – Garching – Freilassing – Salzburg
Changes in the schedule
  • RB 45 between Freilassing and Salzburg will not run.
  • S 3 (ÖBB) as well as line RE 5 provide alternative connections on this route.

 

RB 48

Usual routeMunich Hbf – Grafing Bf – Wasserburg
Changes in the scheduleThe RB 48 only runs from Grafing Bahnhof. There is a connection to the RB 54 or the RE 5 (for details see RB 54).                                

 

RB 13

Usual routeAugsburg Hbf – Friedberg – Ingolstadt Hbf
Changes in the schedule  The 15-minute interval between Augsburg Central Station and Friedberg is discontinued on weekdays (replaced by a 30-minute interval).  

 

RB 87

VerlaufDonauwörth – Meitingen – Augsburg Hbf – Munich Hbf
Changes in the schedule
  • The peak hour services between Augsburg and Donauwörth are canceled.
  • Additionally, Monday to Friday, the trains that only run between Augsburg and Meitingen are canceled. 
  • The hourly connections between Augsburg and Donauwörth will continue to operate.

 

RE 5

Usual routeSalzburg – Freilassing – Traunstein – Rosenheim – Munich
Changes in the schedule
  • Between Traunstein and Munich, the extra trains are canceled during rush hour.
  • Every 2 hours, offset from the RB 54 service, the train also stops at Grafing station.
