Changes in regional transport from 10.07.26 (9 PM) – 20.09.26 (phase B)

Here you can find an overview of the changes in regional transport for the period from 10 July (from 9 PM) to 20 September 2026.

Usual route	Ingolstadt Nord – Ingolstadt Hbf – Neustadt(Donau) – Regensburg – Plattling
Changes	RB 17 between Regensburg and Plattling will not run.Replacement bus services operate on lines RE 50 and RB 51. Further information about these lines is available below.

Usual route	Neumarkt (Oberpf.) – Regensburg – Straubing – Plattling
Changes	RB 51 between Regensburg and Plattling will not run. There will be a replacement bus service.
Information about the replacement service for Regensburg – Plattling (with extension to Plattling during peak hours)	The bus route will be extended to Deggendorf. Articulated buses 1 bus per hour 2 buses per hour during peak times During peak hours, buses run through to Plattling.

Usual route	Nuremberg – Feucht - Neumarkt (Oberpf.) – Regensburg – Plattling
Changes	RE 50 between Regensburg and Passau will not run. There will be a replacement bus service.
Information about replacement services for Regensburg – Passau	Buses with on-board toilet 1–2 buses per hour Regensburg – Plattling 1–2 buses per hour Regensburg – Passau Highway route between Regensburg and Straubing as well as between Plattling and Passau, therefore only seating is available on these sections

Usual route	Neufahrn (Niederb.) – Geiselhöring – Straubing – Bogen
Changes	RB 32 will not run between Geiselhöring and Bogen. There will be a replacement bus service.

Usual route	Munich Hbf – Landshut – Dingolfing – Plattling - Passau
Changes	The RE 3 runs every two hours between Munich Central Station and Dingolfing from Monday to Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, the train runs every two hours between Munich Central Station and Plattling. In Dingolfing and Plattling, there are connections to the RE 3 as well as the replacement bus line RB 3.

Usual route	Kufstein – Rosenheim – Munich Hbf
Changes	There are changes to the schedule. The reason for this is the diversion of rail freight traffic.
Information about replacement services	The frequency of RB 54 between Rosenheim and Munich Central Station will be reduced to 2 hours. During the gaps in the schedule, i.e. offset by 2 hours from the train, replacement bus services will run between Grafing and Rosenheim. During the hours when RE 54 is not running, RE 5 will make an additional stop in Grafing. In Grafing, there is a connection to Munich Central Station.

There will be changes in the schedule for the following lines. The reason for this is the diversion of rail freight traffic.

Usual route	Munich Hbf – Freising – Landshut
Changes in the schedule	Mon–Fri: 3 train pairs operate, cancellation of all other train pairs Sat+Sun: complete cancellation Operation of all stops in the Freising – Landshut section via additional stops on line RE22 (Munich Airport – Freising – Landshut – Regensburg)

Usual route	Munich Hbf – Ingolstadt Hbf – Nuremberg
Changes in the schedule	Mon–Fri: Between Munich Central Station and Ingolstadt Central Station, services run every 2 hours. The operating lines S 2 and RB 16 provide at least partially alternative connections.

Usual route	Munich Hbf – Munich Ost – Mühldorf (Inn)
Changes in the schedule	RB 40 between Munich Hbf und Munich Ost will not run. The S-Bahn trains running through the core route provide alternative connections.

Usual route	Mühldorf (Inn) – Garching – Freilassing - Salzburg
Changes in the schedule	RB 45 between Freilassing and Salzburg will not run. S 3 (ÖBB) as well as line RE 5 provide alternative connections on this route.

Usual route	Munich Hbf – Grafing Bf – Wasserburg
Changes in the schedule	RB 48 only runs from Grafing Bahnhof. There is a connection to the RB 54 or the RE 5 (for details, see RB 54).

Usual route	Augsburg Hbf – Friedberg – Ingolstadt Hbf
Changes in the schedule	The 15-minute interval between Augsburg Central Station and Friedberg is discontinued on weekdays (replaced by a 30-minute interval).

Usual route	Donauwörth – Meitingen – Augsburg Hbf – Munich Hbf
Changes in the schedule	The peak hour services between Augsburg and Donauwörth are canceled. Additionally, Monday to Friday, the trains that only run between Augsburg and Meitingen are canceled. The hourly connections between Augsburg and Donauwörth will continue to operate.

Usual route	Salzburg – Freilassing – Traunstein – Rosenheim – Munich
Changes in the schedule	Between Traunstein and Munich, the extra trains are canceled during rush hour. Every 2 hours, offset from the RB 54 service, the train also stops at Grafing station.
